Hombres del Rey de diversa procedencia e intereses hacen presente la Monarquía en la frontera en el complejo entramado de clientelas de poder. En el artículo se estudian algunos de ellos en dos etapas políticas diferentes 1514- 1524 y 1524-1540.
The Isthmus of Panama became the home base for the operations of expansion on the continent and, after the discovery of the Pacific in 1513, also in the Pacific. The King’s men from diverse backgrounds and with varied and varying interests represented the monarchical powers on the outskirts of the realm, in the complex power games of the times. This article explores some of these at two different political times 1514-1524, and 1524-1540.
